| Virtual
Ground Water Academy (VGWA):
Ram's
Horn Educational, LLC is producing an engaging educational
software package, entitled, Virtual Ground
Water Academy. VGWA is being developed as an alternative to college
level textbooks, as an aid to enhance in-classroom lectures and exercises
and as a reference tool for environmental professionals. VGWA emphasizes
"hands-on" learning through computer game-like simulations,
taking advantage of the latest advances in desktop and notebook computer
power and speed. The software is being developed by Professor Gary A.
Robbins, at the University of Connecticut. Professor Robbins is a 2001
recipient of the University of Connecticut Chancellor's Information
Technology Award, the developer of "Expedited Site Assessment:
The CD" and the author of over 100 articles, papers and presentations
on a wide range of ground water-related topics.
What
we need:
VGWA has an applied emphasis. It covers
a wide range of subjects including:
- ground water contamination,
- ground water as an important resource,
- ground water in context of construction and natural
hazards,
- conducting ground water-related investigations,
- implementing ground water remediation,
- field and laboratory water quality and hydraulic
testing,
- computer assisted data analysis and visualization,
and
- legal aspects associated with ground water usage
and contamination.
Given the breath of subject matter covered in VGWA,
there is a good deal of opportunity to showoff "tools" of
the trade. To raise capital for the software development, we are offering
to place products in VGWA in an exclusive
but non-endorsed manner, as examples. Also, we are interested in using
case histories, conducting photo shoots of equipment, developing animations
that illustrate how equipment works, and conducting video interviews
with experts.
What
you get:
We are offering you an opportunity to cost effectively market skills,
services, equipment and software in VGWA. Given the educational nature
of the software, you will be marketing not only to current but also
to future clients. Exposure in VGWA will enhance your product or service
recognition and familiarity to those that make or will make purchasing
decisions on environmental-related products. Any product shown will
be labeled on screen as to manufacturer. The company will also receive
an acknowledgment in the credits. Additional credit and a URL link to
the company's web site will be given on a web site that supports the
software. Interview material that is used will be accessible through
streaming video from the support web site. Finally, you will be making
a valuable contribution to the education of the next generation of environmental
professionals.
